Valiant Stud Seeking Classic Hat-Trick

Valiant Stud have topped the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale twice previously in recent years and Fergal Connolly and his team just might be able to do it again next week!

Outstanding young sire The Autumn Sun currently has two of the most exciting racehorses in the country in Autumn Glow and Autumn Boy and the Arrowfield favourite has been key to their success as the sire of both of previous Valiant consigned sale-toppers, who are full siblings.

The Autumn Sun colt from Talimena topped last year's Inglis Classic Yearling Sale for Valiant Stud.

Valiant sold a lovely filly from Talimena in 2022 for $550,000 to Glenn Burrows Bloodstock to top Classic and racing as Tulsi, she went on to become a G1 performer in New Zealand.

Last year they were again rewarded when the full brother to Tulsi went to Magus Equine for $520,000 and this year Valiant return with a filly from the star producer to be offered as Lot 494.

Lot 494 - The Autumn Sun filly from Talimena.

Similar in colouring and markings to her siblings, she is very much true to type.

“The cross with The Autumn Sun just works, this filly moves with such fluidity, I  am sure we will see her gliding to greatness,” said Fergal Connolly.

In the time since Valiant Stud sold Tulsi, the family has continued to improve with one of Talimena’s earlier daughters producing the juvenile stakes-winner Tremonti and Tulsi was retired to stud last spring and was covered by champion sire Zoustar.

The residual value of this filly is undeniable and Talimena is not done yet as she was covered by Golden Slipper winner Shinzo last spring.
