Darley and ATC Elevate Spring Princess Series at Royal Randwick

Breednet - Monday July 30
One of world racing's biggest thoroughbred breeding organisations Darley has partnered with the Australian Turf Club's premier Spring Carnival feature series for three-year-old fillies, giving breeders, owners and trainers extra incentive to target four Group races.

Darley has secured naming rights to each of the four legs of the Darley Princess Series to be run at Royal Randwick in August and September.

As part of a new partnership with ATC, Darley will offer the breeder of the winner from each of the four races a free service to some of its leading stallions.

The Darley Princess Series at Royal Randwick consists of four legs:

* $200,000 G2 Darley Silver Shadow Stakes over 1200m on Saturday August 18;

* $200,000 G2 Darley Furious Stakes over 1200m on Saturday 1 September;

* $200,000 G2 Darley Tea Rose Stakes over 1400m on Saturday 15 September;

* $500,000 G1 Darley Flight Stakes over 1600m on Saturday 29 September.

The winning breeder from the individual races will receive a free 2018 or 2019 nomination to Darley stallions Ribchester (Silver Shadow Stakes), Frosted (Furious Stakes), Exosphere (Tea Rose Stakes) and Astern (Flight Stakes).

As an added incentive, the winning filly of the series will also earn a free nomination to any stallion on the Darley roster in the year she retires from racing – or in her first two years at stud if she is by a Darley stallion.

Australian Turf Club Acting Chief Executive James Heddo said: "We are thrilled that a world-renowned organisation such as Darley has joined ATC in further promoting our racing during the Spring.

"Owners, trainers and breeders now have an added incentive to target their fillies at each of the prestigious four legs of the Darley Princess Series.''

Vin Cox, Managing Director of Godolphin in Australia said: "The Darley Princess Series is a fantastic addition to the racing calendar and we are proud to support the ATC's Spring carnival.

"The Australian breeding and racing industry is in incredible shape. The yearling market is up, prizemoney is at record levels and foreign investment continues to grow.

'We are proud of Darley's reputation for looking after our breeders with tangible rewards and this is something we wish to continue to build on.

""The Darley Princess Series at Royal Randwick celebrates the best three-year-old speed fillies in the land and we are proud to reward their owners and breeders with nominations to our world-class Darley stallions.''
