All Too Easy for Reginae

Tara Madgwick - Saturday September 1
Hot favourite More Sundays proved disappointing at Randwick on Saturday in an exciting three year-old race packed with spring contenders including promising All Too Hard filly Reginae who claimed a stylish victory.

A royally bred Fastnet Rock colt from champion mare More Joyous, More Sundays enjoyed the run of the race for Kerrin McEvoy trailing the leader Symi until turning for home, but over the final furlongs was found wanting. He faded to finish seventh as Reginae zoomed through along the inside to score a length and a half win in the 1300 metre Benchmark 74 event for three year-olds.

Reginae (image Steve Hart)  looked good when resuming from a spell to win at Kembla last month and took a massive step forward with this win.

Reginae was a $500,000 Inglis Premier purchase"She's a bombproof filly with a very bright future," said Kris Lees, who has some cracking three year-olds in his team at present including Graff and Smart Melody.

"She has a terrific attitude so we'll look to stretch her out to a mile for the nice fillies races."

A $500,000 Inglis Premier purchase for Little Kwok Hing Hung / Bahen Bloodstock from the Supreme Thoroughbreds draft, Reginae has two wins and a second from three starts and runs for Orbis Bloodstock and her breeder Robert Crabtree of Dorrington Farm.

She is a half-sister to Group II winner Fuhryk and is the fourth winner from stakes-placed Langfuhr (Can ) mare Furhrnatic, who has a yearling filly by Magnus, but missed last spring to Capitalist.

Fuhrnatic is booked to visit Coolmore's Royal Ascot hero Merchant Navy.

Entered for the Group I MRC Thousand Guineas, Reginae looms as a potential spring stakes-winner for Vinery Stud's All Too Hard, who stands at a fee of $33,000 this spring.
