Bondeiger Digs Hard to Win Inglis Cup

Media Release - Sunday September 30

Bondeiger took his career earnings past $850,000 with a strong win in today's Inglis Cup at Caulfield.

Bondeiger - Grant CourtneyBred by Richard Pegum, Bondeiger is raced by a group of connections headed by Laurence Eales, who bought the horse for $75,000 at the 2013 Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, where he was offered by DM Bloodstock.

Eight months earlier Bondeiger was a $10,000 weanling buy for Milawa Park at the Inglis Great Southern Sale, as part of the Three Bridges Thoroughbreds' draft.

As part of the Inglis Race Series, winning trainer Darren Weir received a pair of Swarovski Optik binoculars for the result.

Bondeiger has shown plenty of ability from the beginning of his career.

He won two of his first four starts before finishing second to Preferment in the Group 1 Victoria Derby in 2014.

Since then he has won a Group 3 Launceston Cup and today's $250,000 Inglis Cup success was his sixth career victory.

The next chance to buy a quality racehorse is at the Inglis Ready2Race Sale, at Riverside Stables on Monday October 15.
