Flemington Stakes Double for I Am Invincible

Tara Madgwick - Saturday October 6
The stakes-winners keep coming for Yarraman Park's flagship sire I Am Invincible, who posted a stakes double at Flemington on Saturday with high class mares Eckstein and Invincibella.

The Group I VRC Myer Classic is the likely goal for both mares with Eckstein winning the Listed VRC Paris Lane Stakes over 1400 metres ( read about her here) , while Invincibella took out the Group II VRC Blazer Stakes over the same trip to close the program.

Prepared by Chris Waller and ridden by Hugh Bowman, Invincibella scored and easy two and a half length win as favourite in the familiar purple and white stars of Star Thoroughbreds and is clearIy in career best form at age five.

Waller said he was likely to aim Invincibella at the Group I VRC Myer Classic at Flemington on November 3.

"She's a multiple Group Two winner now and I'm not sure in terms of distance how far she'll go," Waller said.

I Am Invincible"I guess now that we've come this far we'll have a look at the Myer.

"It's still a fair while until the Flemington carnival but that's the beauty of the spring, both in Melbourne and Sydney, they're plenty of races available."

A $185,000 Magic Millions purchase for Star Thoroughbreds from the Sledmere Stud draft, Invincibella has the impressive record of eight wins and 11 placings from 30 starts with prizemoney in excess of $1.3 million.

Invincibella is a half-sister to Group placed Secret Blaze and is the first foal of unraced Galileo (IRE) mare Abscond, who comes from the family of Group I winner The Hind. Abscond was covered last spring by Extreme Choice.

I Am Invincible goes from strength to strength and has a substantial lead on the Australian General Sires List by earnings, winners and stakes-winners.
