Viddora Connections Find a New Invincible Filly

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday January 1
Winning trainer and jockey combination Lloyd Kennewell and Joe Bowditch have enjoyed the highs of Group I racing with their outstanding I Am Invincible mare Viddora and have a new star on the rise by the same sire in exciting prospect Jedastar, who won brilliantly on debut at Flemington on New Year's Day.

The two year old fillies event over 1000 metres looked a strong contest on paper with Jedastar (image Grant Courtney) showing dazzling pace to lead throughout and win by two a quarter lengths in a slick 57.76 seconds.

Jedastar as a yearlingShe powered clear over the strong finishing, blue-blooded Deep Impact filly Enood, a $1million Inglis Easter purchase for Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum from the Arrowfield draft.

"She's shown us that sort of speed since day one and is unbeaten at the Caulfield jumpouts," revealed Lloyd Kennewell.

"She was quick to find the rail and for a two year-old up the straight that's the best asset they can have."

Jedastar was a $250,000 Magic Millions Book Two purchase from the Yarraman Park draft for Kennewell Racing and runs for a big syndicate of owners including many that race Viddora, a Group I winner of $2.7 million in prizemoney.

"She won't go to the Magic Million," Kennewell confirmed.

"We'll freshen her up and look to the Blue Diamond Preview. She has some great owners, a lot that were in Viddora and also Harry Mitchell of Yarraman Park, so I'm delighted to train a winner for him."

Jedastar is the second winner from stakes-winning Dehere (USA) mare Devoirs, whose current yearling, a colt by I Am Invincible will be offered by Yarraman Park as Lot 518 at the 2019 Magic Millions. He is pictured below.

Devoirs was covered last spring by Yarraman Park's young gun I Am Invincible son Hellbent, so will produce a three-quarter sibling to Jedastar next year.

Yarraman Park have a sensational draft for this year's Magic Millions featuring 31 yearlings, 16 of them by I Am Invincible.
