Inglis Great Southern Sale Online

A total of 871 entries have been received for the Inglis Great Southern Sale, for which the catalogue is now available online.

There are 530 weanlings, 285 broodmares, 54 racing stock, one stallion and one stallion share in the sale, which will be held at the renovated Oaklands Junction from June 16-19.

Brazen BeauThe weanling draft includes progeny by leading sires such as Snitzel, Not A Single Doubt, Zoustar, Pierro, Brazen Beau, Dundeel, Exceed And Excel, Written Tycoon, So You Think, Sebring, Hinchinbrook, Lonhro, Rubick, Choisir and Savabeel as well as first season stallions such as Capitalist, Extreme Choice, American Pharoah, Flying Artie, Winning Rupert, Cable Bay, Astern, Frosted, Palentino, Mshawish, Tivaci, Alpine Eagle and Holler.

There are also mares in foal to the likes of Merchant Navy, Exceed And Excel, Dundeel, American Pharoah, Brazen Beau, Zoustar, Written Tycoon, Caravaggio, Rubick and Invader plus racing stock from Lindsay Park and Contract Racing, among others, including multiple Group-placed mare Swampland.

The Great Southern Sale has consistently proven itself a successful hunting ground for pinhookers.

In 2018 there were multiple huge pinhook results including a Zoustar x Canyonville colt (purchased at Great Southern for $225,000, onsold as a yearling for $700,000), a Brazen Beau x Ms Mazetti colt (a $25,000 GSS weanling, sold for $200,000 as a yearling) and a Smart Missile x Hannah Jane filly, which was purchased for $20,000 at Great Southern and realised $170,000 as a yearling.

Weanlings will be offered on the first two days of the sale (Sunday June 16 and Monday June 17), broodmares on Tuesday June 18 and yearlings and racing stock on Wednesday June 19.

Also catalogued is one share in stallion Tosen Stardom, who stands at Woodside Park Stud.
