Promising 3yo's and Waller's WA Recruit Please at Trials

Breednet - Tuesday August 20
Promising three-year-olds Funstar and Kubrick turned in nice efforts when beaten in a barrier trial on Tuesday while a couple of sprint stars and Chris Waller's new West Australian recruit turned it on in strong efforts.

Nature Strip looked outstanding in his trialHeat 1: Redzel wore the blinkers and was given a solid test out by Kerrin McEvoy to beat Nature Strip which looked particularly good making steady ground with more to offer. The heat also featured Group One winning two-year-old Castelvecchio and Gr.2 Todman Stakes winner Yes Yes Yes.
Yes Yes Yes was soundly beaten but did look to have more to offer while on face value Castelvecchio was poor being beaten a long way under riding.

Heat 2: Chris Waller's new recruit from Western Australia, Everest hopeful Enticing Star (Testa Rossa x Favourite Star (More Than Ready (USA)) looked outstanding in winning comfortably. The Bob Peter's owned mare comes east with a record of eight wins from 10 starts, the latest a Group One second in the Winterbottom Stakes in December.

Heat 11: A strong heat containing a promising bunch of three-year-olds in Autocratic, Funstar, Kubrick and Reloaded.
Autocratic (Wandjina x Ballet D'Amour (USA) (Stravinsky (USA)), a three-quarter bother to Russian Revolution won the heat from the filly Funstar (Adelaide (IRE) x Starspangled (IRE) (Danehill (USA)).
Funstar gave the impression she had more to offer during her first campaign when winning both starts on wet winter track.
Kubrick (Shooting To Win x Alcatraz (Fastnet Rock)), a last start second in the Gr.1. JJ Atkins Plate finished fourth with JJ Atkins third placegetter finishing at the tail but all runners would have please connections with no serious efforts being asked for and only a couple of lengths covering the field.
