New Inglis Sale-Topper Bought for Pierata

Media Release - Tuesday May 12

An already strong initial set of results from Sunday’s Inglis Australian Broodmare Sale have been further bolstered by a series of private sales in recent days, including that of the Jazcom Thoroughbreds consigned Miss Exfactor (Lot 399, pictured) for a sale-topping $280,000 to Aquis Farm.

Miss Exfactor will be covered by Pierata in the spring“She is for Pierata, who we will be supporting heavily in his first season” said Aquis Farm Managing Director Shane McGrath.

“She’s very good-looking and fast, which are usually the right criteria for broodmare success in Australia.

“Credit to the guys at Inglis, their work didn’t stop when the sale finished, and we were glad to agree a deal.

“The response to Pierata has been extraordinarily positive – I don’t think there is a better looking horse retiring to stud this year – so we are very excited,” added McGrath.

The sale of Miss Exfactor brings the gross of the sale past the $10m mark, with the tally of mares sold for $100,000 or more increasing to 27 with the sale of Electric Dreams from the draft of Segenhoe Stud (As Agent) to Bromfield Park for $245,000.

The clearance rate for Sunday’s sale has now risen to 72% with the prospect of yet further sales to be completed in the coming days.

“We were determined to run a good series of breeding stock sales, irrespective of the conditions, and to have grossed over $33.5m across Chairman’s and the Australian Broodmare Sale is very rewarding” said Inglis NSW Bloodstock Manager Chris Russell.

“It hasn’t been an easy few months, but we have we have been committed to helping vendors sell their horses, while helping buyers find horses that satisfy their demands and our team gets great satisfaction out of each and every sale that gets completed.

“We are looking forward to our series of sales in July and with those in mind, I think vendors can be confident that we are doing all we can to ensure an optimum set of results for them going forward” added Russell.

Mares remain available for sale from both the Chairman’s Sale (CLICK HERE) and the Australian Broodmare Sale (CLICK HERE).

Entries are now open for the Inglis Digital May Online Sale, which will run from May 22-27, while entries remain open for the Inglis Australian Weanling Sale, which is scheduled for July 8th.
