What a Day for Extreme Choice

Mark Smith - Saturday October 24

A wonderful day for Newgate Farm’s first season stallion Extreme Choice, who shortly after a milestone first winner with Palamos at Te Rapa, struck again with the debutant Tiger Of Malay in the Kirkham Plate (1000m) at Randwick.

His father's son Tiger Of Malay makes a winning debut (Steve Hart)

Ridden by Jason Collett for Richard and Michael Freedman, Tiger Of Malay finished determinedly from midfield to defeat the Snitzel filly Snerda by a half-length with the Not A Single Doubt filly Mura Mura the same distance back in third.

Consigned to the 2020 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale by Tyreel Stud, Tiger Of Malay was knocked down to China Horse Club / Newgate Bloodstock for $255,000.

He is a three-quarter brother to Listed winner Samizdat and a half-brother to Group III winner Samovare (Savabeel) out of the More Than Ready (USA) mare Sambar.

eful performer for Star Thoroughbreds, Sambar has a yearling colt by Lonhro but missed to Exceed And Excel last spring.

Extreme Choice has made an exciting start to his career. It is made more impressive by the fact he had just 48 foals in his first crop.
