A $360,000 Karaka Book 1 purchase for David Ellis, the Jamie Richards trained Dynastic lined up in the Karaka Million at just his second race start.
The Almanzor (Fr) colt was second when making his debut on Boxing Day, but atoned for that defeat with a commanding victory in the Karaka Million over stakes-winning filly Wolverine.
His half-brother, an athletic bay colt by Mongolian Khan from Meir will be offered by Windsor Park Stud as Lot 929 in Book 2.
“He’s a classically built, quality colt that is a beautiful moving individual from a high class Aga Khan family,” said Windsor Park Stud’s Steve Till.
A two time NZ Horse of the Year and triple Group I winner of the Caulfield Cup, Australian Derby and New Zealand Derby, Mongolian Khan is starting to hit his straps as a sire.
“He has an interesting runner in Australia on Saturday in Bankers Choice,” Till pointed out.
“The four year-old gelding has won five of 10 starts in New Zealand and will make his debut for the Mike Moroney stable in the Group II VRC Blamey Stakes at Flemington.”
Windsor Park sires Turn Me Loose, ShamExpress, Rip Van Winkle (IRE) and Charm Spirit (IRE) have all enjoyed stakes success this season and promising young sire Vanbrugh has had six winners from just 15 runners headed by his Group placed filly Mustang Valley.
A triple Group I winning sprinter miler by sire of sires Iffraaj, Turn Me Loose is building an impressive record with his oldest progeny just 3YO’s with six stakes horses led by promising 2YO Alabama Gold, winner of the Group III Matamata Slipper and stakes-winner Turn the Ace.
