Debut Win for Houtzen Sister

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday February 15

A $460,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Peachester Lodge from the Yarraman Park draft, blueblood I Am Invincible filly Set to Shine made a winning debut at Doomben on Wednesday.

Not as precocious as her famous older sister Houtzen, the Tony Gollan trained three year-old has taken a little while to mature, but showed the potential of good things to come when scoring at her first start.

She raced on the pace for Ben Thompson and stuck to her guns gamely to win the 1050m maiden by a head over expensive Snitzel filly Maid to Fit, who started favourite.

Set to Shine is the second winner from Set to Unleash and is a full sister to $2million earner Houtzen, a multiple Group winner that also took out the Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

Tony Gollan also trains Rise Angelou, the two year-old full sister to Set to Shine and Houtzen that made $1million at Magic Millions last year. She has had one barrier trial finishing fourth in November last year at Deagon.

Set to Unleash has no yearling for the sales this year and has been married to I am Invincible in recent years, but had a change of pace last spring and was covered by his champion son Home Affairs.
