Inglis Easter Stars from Valley of Champions

Widden Stud were in the spotlight at Inglis Easter last year selling the full brother to Sunlight for $3million and in the 12 months since then, his sire Zoustar has gone from strength to strength with another stunning draft from the ‘valley of champions’ set to dazzle at Riverside Stables when inspections get underway next week.

Widden Stud sold the most expensive yearling in Australia last year with the brother to Sunlight selling for $3million at Inglis Easter.

With glamour Group I winning filly Zougotcha flying the flag, Widden graduates have been racing up a storm this season with other star performers including Lazzago, Zou Tiger, Facile, Buenos Noches and Daisies.

Widden will present a draft of 43 with some of the obvious highlights below that were showcased in spectacular fashion in the Inglis Easter Preview on Sky earlier this week:

Lot 83 is a stunning Zoustar filly, the second foal of multiple Group III  winner and Group I placed Cool Passion, a winner of 11 races and over $800,000 in prizemoney, and a half-sister to SW Havana Wind.

Her first foal Sledding(2f Lonhro) sold for $1,050,000 last year to Sheamus Mills Bloodstock. This filly is bred on the same cross as SW Solar Star.

Lot 355 is queen of a filly by Zoustar and is the second foal of Group III winning I Am Invincible mare She’s So High.

She comes from the family of Group I  winners Shooting to Win, La Luna Rossa and leading sire Deep Field and her full brother Bravely (2c Zoustar) sold for $500,000 and is in work with Peter and Paul Snowden.

Lot 49 is a superb colt by champion sire I Am Invincible from stakes-winning O’Reilly mare Bonny O’Reilly, a full sister to the dam of this year’s Group I ATC Coolmore Classic winner Espiona.

It’s a top class Black Type family featuring Group I winners Vision and Power, Glamour Puss and Steps in Time and the first foal from Bonny O’Reilly is Group placed Snitzel colt Basquiat, who topped Magic Millions in 2021.

Lot 297 is another I Am Invincible, this gorgeous filly the second foal of Group I winning $1.6 million earner Prompt Response.

A six time winner with a huge resume of Group wins and placings, Prompt Response is a full sister to Group III winner Prompt Return and her first foal (colt by I Am Invincible) sold for $500,000 last year.
