Coolmore Strike for $1.5Million Snitzel Colt

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday April 4

Arrowfield Stud have enjoyed much success over the years investing in quality North American mares and Ms Bad Behavior (Can), purchased from the Fasig-Tipton Breeding Stock Sale in 2019 for $US600,000 delivered the goods with her first foal offered at Inglis Easter on Tuesday.

A strapping colt by champion sire Snitzel, he was much admired in the lead up to the sale and was knocked down to Tom Magnier for $1.5million.

Coolmore have recently hit the heights with Snitzel having bred and retained Golden Slipper winning colt Shinzo, while another high class Snitzel acquisition Best of Bordeaux will join the stallion roster at Jerry’s Plains this spring.

“He was a very nice type and all the team liked him and he will go to Chris (Waller),” Tom Magnier told Jemma Cutting of Inglis.

“I guess we’re trying to find the next Shinzo. We’re delighted to get him and fingers crossed!”

Ms Bad Behavior is a Group III winner with multiple Group and Listed placings and is by Blame, who is doing a great job as a broodmare sire producing the dams of 12 stakes-winners headed by Group I winner Forte, the Champion US 2YO Colt of 2022.

Ms Bad Behavior has another colt to follow by Snitzel and is back in foal to the Arrowfield favourite again.
