Coolmore Mount White Open for Business

Breednet - Thursday March 14

Global breeding giant Coolmore have a high profile presence in the Australian racing and breeding industry with key race sponsorships such as the Group I ATC Coolmore Classic at Rosehill this Saturday to compliment a star studded stallion roster at headquarters in the Hunter Valley, but the addition of Coolmore Mount White Spelling Farm adds a new string to the bow.

Coolmore Mount White Farm is an idyllic spelling farm now open for outside clients.

With a growing stable of racehorses, including Golden Slipper favourites Storm Boy and Switzerland being prepared by a number of leading trainers, Coolmore saw an opportunity last year to streamline that side of the business with the addition of a high class spelling farm close to Sydney.

While Coolmore at Jerry’s Plains has a first class training track and facilities for breaking in and education of younger stock under the expert eye of Evan Henley, the need was seen for something closer to town offering short term spelling for elite racehorses and John Singleton’s Strawberry Hill Stud provided the answer.

The paddocks where champions come for a holiday.

Situated at Mount White, just north of Sydney on the freeway, Strawberry Hill was set up to accommodate the finest thoroughbreds in comfort and safety with champions More Joyous and Tuesday Joy living their lives at the farm until it’s purchase last year by Coolmore.
