Juvenile Trial Watch – Rosehill

Tara Madgwick - Friday May 17

There was an interesting set of trials at Rosehill on Friday morning with Brisbane Winter Carnival prospects In Secret and Schwarz both winning heats and there were also seven two year-old winners including unraced colts by Written Tycoon and Zoustar.

Ciaron Maher and James McDonald combined with Written Tycoon colt Goodlucktome, who has now had three wins from four trials and is ready to go racing.

Retained by Hutchins Thoroughbreds, Goodlucktome is a half-brother to stakes-placed Impasse and Better Land being from former brilliant Group II ATC Silver Slipper winner Amelia’s Dream, who has had eight foals to race and all are winners.

Hutchins Thoroughbreds are having a dispersal sale under their Element Hill banner at the Magic Millions National Sale and their draft includes Amelia’s Dream (in foal to So You Think)and her four time winning daughter Radiant Remi in the broodmare section as well as a weanling filly by So You Think from Amelia’s Dream that will be offered as Lot 14.

Another unraced Written Tycoon colt here in the Annabel Neasham trained Shelstein, who was having his third trial this prep and was made to get out and get going by Tyler Shiller to score his first win.

A $550,000 Inglis Classic purchase for  TFI / Kia Ora Stud / Annabel Neasham Racing, Shelstein was the top lot at Inglis Classic and is the first foal of former slick Group winning Snitzel mare Sylvia’s Mother.

Trained by Chris Waller, expensive Zoustar colt Indigo Star was having his second trial this prep and improved on a first up fourth to post a win in a heat that also featured $2.5million I Am Invincible colt Railway Man, who was a well held together fourth with James McDonald in the saddle.

Indigo Star was a $1.3million Inglis Easter purchase for Hermitage Thoroughbreds from Widden Stud and is the second foal of fast juvenile stkaes-winner Lady Jivago from the Singles Bar branch of the Easy Date family.

Additional winners were: Tessy Tee (Rubick), Synergize (Strassbourg), Avior (Deep Field) and I Am a Winner (Written Tycoon).
