The 3-year-old Dan Morton-trained filly Cashel Palace was the second longest-priced runner in the Sir Ernest Lee-Steere Classic.

Ridden by Lucy Fiore Cashel Palace came with a barnstorming finish to defeat the favoured pair of London's Image (Headwater) and Wind And The Lion (Written By).

A $160,000 purchase for Shane Stafford from the Yarradale Stud draft at the 2023 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale, Cashel Palace was coming off a well-beaten fourth in the Group III WA Champion Fillies Stakes after breaking her maiden at Ascot on November 5.

She is the first live foal of the War Chant mare Burgoyne, a half-sister to the stakes-winner Jerezana, the dam of the Group 1 ATC The Galaxy winner Zapateo and Group II VRC TAB Stakes winner Osborne Bulls, and granddam of the Group II Roman Consul Stakes winner Viridine.

China Horse Club/Williams Racing WA/Suman Hedge Bloodstock (FBAA) shelled out $370,000 for Burgoyne's Brazen Beau colt at the 2024 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale.

The 4-year-old Street Boss (USA) mare The Boss Lady came off a second-place finish in the Listed Jungle Mist Classic.

Ridden by Chris Parnham for Michael Lane, The Boss Lady wore down the Bob Peters colour bearer Antique Miss (Domesday) by a long-neck with Bonjoy (Maschino) one and a quarter lengths back in third.

The Boss Lady advances her record to seven wins, two seconds, and two thirds from 14 starts with earnings of $456,050.

“She’s a super little mare. We bred both her and (Belmont Guineas winner) Rusty Dreams, and they are both close to our hearts,” Lane said.

A homebred for Canal Enterprises, The Boss Lady is the best of two winners from as many to race for the stakes-placed Star Witness mare Top Of The Clas, who finished third in the 2017 Jungle Dawn Classic.

Lane purchased Top Of The Class for $10,000 at the 2014 Inglis Great Southern Weanling Sale.

Cashel Palace was the 75th and The Boss Lady the 76th stakes-winner for Darley Stud’s Street Boss (USA).
