$2million Earner The Inevitable Wins Conquering Stakes for Third Time!

Tara Madgwick - Thursday December 12

He might be a nine year-old, but Dundeel gelding The Inevitable still has pep in his step and posted a 17th career win in the Listed Conquering Stakes (1400m) at Launceston on Wednesday evening.

Trained by John Keys and ridden by Craig Newitt, The Inevitable started favourite and scored by a head over Headwater gelding Thespian Waters, who is less than half his age!

It was his third win in the Conquering Stakes having landed the race previously in 2021 and 2022 before finishing second last year.

A $90,000 Magic Millions Adelaide purchase from Cornerstone Stud for David Brunton, The Inevitable has won over $2million in a career spanning 41 starts with a win in the Group III VRC CS Hayes (1400m) at Flemington at three showing his ability to mix it with the best on the mainland.

He is a half-brother to Group III winner Blahnik and stakes-winner Elysees being the best of 11 winners from sensational producer Gift Bouquet, a stakes-winning daughter of Kings High.

Born when she was 21, The Inevitable was her final foal as she died in 2018.

Dundeel

The Inevitable is the fourth stakes-winner this season for Dundeel, who has 14 entries for Magic Millions.
