$1.15m for Wodeton Half-Brother by I Am Invincible

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday January 8

Segenhoe Stud produced their second million dollar yearling at Magic Millions on Wednesday when the half-brother by I Am Invincible to unraced boom colt Wodeton sold for $1.15million.

$1.15million I Am Invincible colt from Fiera Vista.

At this sale last year, they sold a Wootton Bassett (GB) colt from stakes-winning Exceed and Excel mare Fiera Vista for $1.6million to Tom Magnier and while the Chris Waller trained Wodeton is yet to race, the drums have been beating for some time that he is something special.

Wodeton was second in a trial behind West of Swindon back in October and then second in a trial at Warwick Farm last week with bookmakers having him high in the Golden Slipper market with keen anticipation surrounding his imminent debut, so it was no surprise to see his half-brother going into the same ownership.

“We’re happy to get that horse from Segenhoe and they do a great job,” said Tom Magnier, indicating the colt would follow Wodeton into the stable of Chris Waller.

Bred by Fairway Thoroughbreds, the star colt is the third foal from Fiera Vista, who comes from the family of world champion sprinter Silent Witness. She was also bred by Fairway Thoroughbreds, retained to race and is now proving her worth at stud.

Fiera Vista missed in 2023 to Dundeel, so was sent to the Northern Hemisphere and is in foal to Too Darn Hot (GB) to Southern Hemisphere time.
