$750,000 Farnan Colt Delights Lime Country Thoroughbreds

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday January 8

Kia Ora Stud’s Farnan has made a great impression with his first runners including $1million Golden Gift winner North England and the Golden Slipper winning sire produced an outstanding result for Lime Country Thoroughbreds at Magic Millions on Wednesday when they sold one of his colts for $750,000.

$750,000 Farnan colt from Festivity.

A half-brother to multiple Group I placed Group III winning mare Semana from speedy Nicconi mare Festivity, the colt was snapped up by James Harron Bloodstock Colt Partnership/Tony Fung Colts.

Jo Griffin was thrilled with the result given Lime Country Thoroughbreds purchased the colt’s dam Festivity for just $85,000 at the 2023 Inglis Australian Broodmare Sale when she was in foal to Farnan with this colt the result of the mating.

“He was just a stunning horse and so many good judges and trainers were on him and I really appreciate those people being there,” said Jo Griffin.

Festivity produced another colt by Farnan last spring and was then covered by Wootton Bassett (GB).
