It’s never a long wait for the next Newhaven Park bred and sold stakes-winner to arrive with talented filly The Playwright taking out the Group III ATC Widden Stud Stakes last Saturday and it might not be long until the next with Cool Aza Beel colt Cobra Club engaged to run in the $2million Inglis Millennium.

A $60,000 Magic Millions purchase from Newhaven Park for Tricolours Racing, Written By filly The Playwright has won two of four starts earning $734,500 to the great delight of her big team of owners and this week it will be the turn for the Darby Racing owners involved with Cobra Club.

The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained colt was bought by Darby Racing at Inglis Classic last year for $70,000 and recouped his purchase price on debut when finishing a close second in the $500,000 ATC Inglis Nursery (1000m) on December 14.

He tuned up with a recent barrier trial win on January 20 and is primed for a good showing at Randwick on Saturday in the $2million Inglis Millennium (1100m).

Newhaven Park’s young gun sire Cool Aza Beel has made a strong start with his first five runners producing four to place highlighted by stakes horses Cobra Club and Cool Archie as well as the New Zealand winner Cool Aza Rene.
