Silver Slipper Looks Gold - 4 of Top 7 To Clash

Craig Tompson - Wednesday February 19

The fields are out for Saturday’s Rosehill card and the Silver Slipper has produced a salivating line up where we’ll see the next run of boom Wootton Bassett colt Wodeton in a race which includes four of the top seven in the Golden Slipper market.

Wodeton (Wootton Bassett) was high in Golden Slipper betting before he raced and when he finally did, went straight to a clear favourite after trouncing the opposition, however faces a serious rise in the quality of opposition this week.

He's had one quiet barrier tral between runs, with trials the flavour of the day in the formguide.

North England (Farnan) and West Of Swindon (Wootton Bassett) resume their hostilities after finishing within a head of each other in the $1mil Inglis Golden Gift.

Victory went to North England in that race, and he’s had a late change of tack from an expected Inglis Millennium start to barrier trial brilliantly leading into this pointy end of his Golden Slipper tilt, beating a wayward Bel Merci in the process.

West Of Swindon likewise hasn’t been seen since the Golden Gift, having just the one quiet barrier trial on February 13.

Bel Merci (Extreme Choice) may have appeared to produce a little less than expected in the trial behind North England but that certainly wasn't the case when sent to Kembla for another go.

She produced a stunning eight length display there which saw new rider Zac Lloyd aboard, with previous rider Chad Schofield suspended.

To add to the interest, North England (10) and Wodeton (11) have drawn the two extreme outside barriers while West Of Swindon (1) and Bel Merci (2) will have the inside advantage.
