Twin Hills Showcase Daumier at Inglis Great Southern

Twin Hills Stud are headed to Victoria this week for the Inglis Great Southern Weanling Sale (June 13) with a draft of 18 and eight of them are from the first crop of the farm’s young sire Daumier.

Well known to Victorians, Daumier won a classy renewal of the Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes in 2022 beating top class filly Revolutionary Miss and talented colt Jacquinot, who would go on to win a pair of G1 races at three.

From a handful of weanlings offered for sale so far, Daumier has already had a great result with a colt from Five Card Charlie purchased at MM National for $90,000 by astute judge Merrick Staunton.

For those interested in checking out the Daumier stock, a colt from Group I placed Fastnet Rock mare Fast and Sexy offered as Lot 67 makes instant appeal.

His dam has had five foals to race four winners and traces back to an outstanding European female family with blue hen Eljazzi the fourth dam of this quality colt from a family that has produced champion sire Invincible Spirit and G1 stars such as Pride of Dubai, also a G1 sire, and Champion 2YO Pinatubo.

Lot 173 is a lovely Daumier filly from proven producer Ningbo, who has had four foals to race and three are winners headed by metro winner Serene Nic.

Ningbo is a winning half-sister to stakes-winner Bewhatyouwannabe from stakes-winner Bella Corona and is by Star Witness, who is becoming an influential broodmare sire with his daughters producing Everest winner Bella Nipotina and Group I ATC Australian Derby queen Aeliana.

Twin Hills will be looking to get the sale off to a flyer as they will offer Lot 1, the full brother to stakes-winner Russian Roni.

Lot 320 Filly So You Think x Bundle of Fun, by Written Tycoon

The only filly in the sale by outstanding sire So You Think, who has sired 12 G1 winners. First foal of Bundle of Fun, a stakes-winning half-sister by champion sire Written Tycoon to stakes-winner and $1.1million earner Kubrick.

Lot 326 Colt Hitotsu x See Line Woman (NZ), by Zabeel

From the first crop of triple G1 winner Hitotsu and is half-brother to a winner from a winning half-sister to Group III placed Walking Flying from Group I winner Veloce Bella.
