First Foal for Gold Trip

Tara Madgwick - Monday August 18

Fourth in the Arc de Triomphe and a brilliant winner of the Group I VRC Turnbull Stakes at 2000m, there have been few classier winners of the Melbourne Cup than Gold Trip (Fr) and his very first foal has been born this spring.

Standing at Lovatsville under the care of Sam White and his team, Gold Trip has been afforded a great opportunity to get his stud career off to a good start with Miranda Park reporting on the arrival of his first foal.

Bred by Chris and Kate Anderson and foaled down at Miranda Park with Gary O’Meara, this lovely filly is also the first foal of her dam Ideal Miss, a three time winner by Everest hero Giga Kick’s sire Scissor Kick.

“She was born on Saturday morning for some very good clients and is one of those bright active foals that was quickly to her feet,” said Gary O’Meara.

“She is very correct. A nicely balanced good-looking filly that is black in colour with a lovely head.

“She has a great mix of speed and stamina in her pedigree and her owners are very excited as they plan to race her themselves.”

Ideal Miss was one of the first mares covered by Gold Trip, whose fee this year remains at $8,800.

She comes from a prolific Black Type family being a grand-daughter of stakes-winner Eire Hostess with Group I winners Headturner, Anacheeva and O’Marilyn all on the page.
