Lindermann Cracks $4million in Earnings

Tara Madgwick - Saturday October 25

Gelded after losing form following his tenacious victory in the 2023 Group I ATC Rosehill Guineas, the Chris Waller trained Lindemann has embraced life as a gelding and has been on fire this spring racking up a series of lucrative wins including the $750,000 Group III ATC Craven Plate (1800m) at Randwick on Saturday.

Ridden by his regular partner Nash Rawiller, the son of champion racehorse and sire Lonhro controlled the race again and set a tempo to suit before zipping away down the straight to win by a couple of lengths over his stablemates Militarize and Kovalica to lead a Waller trifecta.

Lindermann also won the Craven Plate last year, but is in even better form this year as he has also captured the Group II ATC Hill Stakes and Chelmsford Stakes.

"It's full credit to the horse, he's had a magnificent preparation," said Rawiller, who is Lindermann’s biggest fan.

"He tricks me sometimes because he's got such a big loafing long action that they think Nash is getting away with this but he's running the times. The clock doesn't lie.

"I believe he would have been hard to beat in the Cox Plate but he could go out now and return full of confidence in the autumn.

"If we get these dry tracks in autumn, he can come back and be the ‘kingpin'. He would be right in a race like the Queen Elizabeth Stakes."

A homebred for the Debbie Kepitis’s Woppitt Bloodstock that was foaled and raised at Coolmore, Lindermann has the overall record of eight wins and 10 placings from 35 starts with prizemoney topping $4million.

Lindermann is the best of four winners from four foals to race from stakes-placed Stratum mare Self Esteem, who comes from the family of Group I stars Assertive Lad, Assertive Las and Reset.

Self Esteem has a yearling filly by Pierro that is a three-quarter sister to Lindermann and has no foal this spring after missing last year.
