$900,000 for Zoustar Half-Sister to Farnan

Tara Madgwick - Friday January 16

Reigning champion sire Zoustar posted his best result at Magic Millions on Friday when the half-sister to Golden Slipper winner and exciting young sire Farnan sold for $900,000.

$900,000 Zoustar filly from Tallow.

Consigned by Widden Stud, she was knocked down to Matt Laurie Racing/Willannah Park Bloodstock.

“I just fell in love with her. She’s a real athlete. A very clean bodied filly and a very stylish horse,” said Laurie.

“She’s got a strong page behind her and we want to add to her on the racetrack but she’s always going to have that pedigree.”

The star filly is a half-sister to Farnan and also Group winning sire Sandbar being from Group III winner Tallow and she is also a full sister to the promising Chris Waller trained 3YO filly Beside the Ocean.

“I thought she could go anywhere from $600,000 to $1 million. We weren’t far off the mark,” Laurie revealed.

“We’ll have probably 25% to fill but I don’t think that will be too much of an issue finding someone to go into her.”

Tallow produced a colt last spring by Shinzo and was then covered by Ole Kirk.
