The release of third declarations for the Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes next month has Widden Stud’s fairytale colt Unit Five still in the mix after his brilliant win in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic, but next week the focus for Team Widden turns to Inglis Classic.

The Ciaron Maher trained son of Supido is now two for two and Widden Stud’s Matt Comerford confirmed the colt has pulled up well from his Gold Coast escapade and the Blue Diamond is very much on the radar.
Unit Five has been back in light work in Sydney since his memorable victory and is scheduled to go back to Melbourne in the coming week as he prepares for the G1 Blue Diamond (1200m) on February 21 at Caulfield, where he won his debut on December 20.
Unit Five is not the only stakes-winning juvenile to emerge from Widden Stud this season with the Paul Murray trained Trapeze Artist filly Where’s the Circus winning the $500,000 Inglis Nursery (1000m) on debut last month.

Her full brother is in the Widden draft for Inglis Classic as Lot 190.

By Trapeze Artist from a daughter of champion sire Fastnet Rock, the colt is a full brother to Where’s the Circus and half-brother to stakes-placed Can’t Find Snippy, who is the dam of a stakes-placed 2YO this season in Elusive Capital.
Misplaced has been a terrific producer with all eight of her previous named foals going to the races and seven have won!

Fourth foal of well-bred imported daughter of outstanding sire Street Boss and is a full brother to the Ciaron Maher trained 2YO Spicy Miss, who was a good second on debut in the $1million ATC Golden Gift in November. Lot 575 Colt Zousain x Whenitrainsitpours, by Your Song

Second foal of a winning half-sister to stakes-placed Flamenco Girl from stakes-placed Dance Baby Dance. Quality colt that looks a real runner and is bred on the well proven Zoustar x Fastnet Rock nick that has produced G1 stars Zougotcha and Joliestar.
Lot 797 Colt Jacquinot x Exselva, by Exceed and Excel

He’s the second last lot in the entire sale and might be well worth the wait. Quality colt from the first crop of Jacquinot and is a half-brother to stakes-winner Axe and four other winners from good produced Exselva.
