The Michael Mehegan trained Bossy Benita broke her maiden on February 26 last year and 12 months on the four year-old So You Think mare is now a stakes-winner after scoring a bold front running victory in the $200,000 Group III MRC Mannerism Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on Saturday.

Ridden by Daniel Stackhouse, she improved off her first up third in a Group race three weeks ago, controlling the race from the outset before kicking away after turning for home.
She kept up a good gallop and had enough left to win by three quarters of a length taking her overall record to five wins and five placings from 13 starts with prizemoney topping $385,000.
"It was good, big credit to Michael and his team and his family, presented her in terrific order today. I just knew if I could control it, roll early, get a nice breather in the mid stages and then build from about the 500 (metres) I'd be hard to chase down and I was,” said Daniel Stackhouse.
"She wanted to get on the job early, I said just wait darl, drop your head, keep relaxed and once she did that, I thought she'd very tough to run down because she keeps going."

An $85,000 Inglis Premier purchase for MJM Racing & Bloodstock Pty Ltd from the Springmount draft, Bossy Benita was bred by Tarsao Investments Pty Ltd, WA and is the first winner for unraced Fastnet Rock mare Bossy Woman, a grand-daughter of Champion South African Filly Tracy’s Element, the dam of Australian Horse of the Year Typhoon Tracy.
Also in the family is seven time Group I winning $9million earner Alligator Blood so when this pedigree throws up a good one, it’s a seriously good one!
Bossy Woman has a yearling colt by Fierce Impact (Jpn) and then had a year off before going back to So You Think last spring.
Bossy Benita is the 68th stakes-winner for much missed So You Think, who died last October after covering 75 mares.
