Brilliant 2YO Stakes-Winner for Needs Further

Tara Madgwick - Monday January 28
Classy Tasmanian based sire Needs Further added a third stakes-winner to his tally when undefeated filly Mystical Pursuit scored an impressive win in the $100,000 Listed Elwick Stakes at Hobart on Sunday.

Needs FurtherTrained by Adam Trinder, Mystical Pursuit led all the way and cruised home to win the 1100 metre sprint b more than two lengths over Gee Gees Darl, a daughter of first season sire Cluster.

A three-quarter sister-in-blood to spring Group II winner Mystic Journey, Mystical Pursuit has won three from three backing over $112,000 in prizemoney.

A $28,000 Magic Millions Tasmania purchase for Wayne Roser from the Armidale Stud draft, Mystic Pursuit is the second winner from Oh So Gold, an unraced half-sister by Savoire Vivre (GB) to Mystic Journey, winner of the Group II MVRC Moonee Valley Fillies Classic.

Mystic Pursuit is another great reason to look hard at the 2019 Magic Millions Tasmanian Yearling Sale where her sire Needs Further is the most represented at the sale with 21 youngsters on offer.
