Outstanding Tattersalls October Book 1 Catalogue Now Online

The catalogue for Book 1 of the 2019 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, which takes place Tuesday 8th to Thursday 10th October, is now online.

Europe's premier yearling sale numbers 552 lots, all of which are eligible for the lucrative £25,000 Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus scheme. (view it here)

The flagship Tattersalls sale has attracted a truly outstanding collection of the finest yearlings to be found anywhere in the world, including 29 yearlings by DUBAWI, 23 by GALILEO, 40 by FRANKEL and 41 by KINGMAN.

In addition, the catalogue features own or half brothers and sisters to a massive 59 Classic and Group 1 winners and an equally impressive 243 Group/Listed winners. Amongst the siblings to Classic and Group 1 winners are own or half-brothers to 2018 and 2019 stars ADVERTISE, BEST SOLUTION, LINE OF DUTY, MAGNA GRECIA, POET'S WORD, TALISMANIC, VERACIOUS and WITHOUT PAROLE, as well as AL KAZEEM, BARNEY ROY, DANCING RAIN, GALILEO GOLD, GOLDEN HORN, HARBOUR LAW, IZZI TOP, LADY ELI, LEGATISSIMO, MATERIALITY and SPEEDY BOARDING.

Amongst a host of beautifully bred fillies are own or half-sisters to Classic and Group 1 winners BATTAASH, BLUE POINT (image Tattersalls), LATROBE, LILLIE LANGTRY, QUALIFY, POUR MOI, SHALAA, SHEIKHA REIKA, SHRAAOH, TEN SOVEREIGNS, THE TIN MAN, TIGGY WIGGY, VADAMOS, VIVA PATACA and Japanese Derby winner DEEP BRILLANTE.


An impressive 21 Classic and Group 1 winning mares have yearlings catalogued including CHACHAMAIDEE, SPEEDY BOARDING, SULTANINA, THE FUGUE and VOLEUSE DE COEURS, all of whom have colts by DUBAWI, ATTRACTION, GILT EDGE GIRL and IZZI TOP, who all have colts by FRANKEL, Champion Australian racemare ATLANTIC JEWEL and ROSDHU QUEEN, who both have fillies by GALILEO and DYNAFORCE, NANNINA and the Champion ISLINGTON who all have colts by KINGMAN.

24 of the current top 25 active sires standing in Britain and Ireland are well represented with the current top six, GALILEO, SEA THE STARS, SHAMARDAL, DUBAWI, DARK ANGEL and FRANKEL accounting for a mighty 161 yearlings with 23, 31, 8, 29, 30 and 40 catalogued respectively.

Among the 23 yearlings by ten - time Champion sire GALILEO are own or half-brothers and sisters to Classic and Group 1 winners LATROBE, LINE OF DUTY, POUR MOI and TIGGY WIGGY, while DUBAWI, sire of last year's 3.5 million guineas October Book 1 sale topper has own or half brothers and sisters to Classic and Group 1 winners BARNEY ROY, GALILEO GOLD, LEGATISSIMO, SHALAA, VADAMOS and WITHOUT PAROLE to represent him.

KINGMAN, now firmly established as one of the most exciting young sires in the world, has an equally illustrious team catalogued from his third crop including the half-brothers to outstanding Group 1 winnersAL KAZEEM and POET'S WORD and the half-sister to Hong Kong legend VIVA PATACA. Eye-catching lots amongst the 40 catalogued by Juddmonte Farms' other superstar sire FRANKEL are the half and own brothers to Derby winner Golden Horn and recent Group 1 Tattersalls Falmouth Stakes winner VERACIOUS as well as half-sisters to the top class LILLIE LANGTRY and Japanese Derby winner DEEP BRILLANTE.

Devotees of first yearling sires are well catered for with 17 freshmen including Classic winners AWTAAD, HARZAND, NEW BAY and THE GURKHA represented by a total of 51 yearlings.

Overseas based sires are traditionally well to the fore at Book 1 of the October Yearling Sale and proven Group/Grade 1 USA based sires BERNARDINI, KITTEN'S JOY, MEDAGLIA D'ORO and WAR FRONT all feature prominently alongside young sires AIR FORCE BLUE, AMERICAN PHAROAH, FLINTSHIRE and VANCOUVER, as well as top French based sires LE HAVRE, SHALAA, SIYOUNI and WOOTTON BASSETT.

The largest consignment comes from The Castlebridge Consignment with 37 yearlings, followed by Newsells Park Stud with a team of 26, and New England Stud with 24 yearlings. Last year's sale topping consignor Watership Down Stud has 21 lots catalogued.
