All Too Hard's Amangiri Captures the Hawkesbury Cup

Mark Smith - Saturday April 25

With eight stakes-winners for the season, Vinery Stud’s All Too Hard is enjoying a breakout season and the Michael, Wayne and John Hawkes-trained mare Amangiri has certainly played her part.

The winner of the Group III Tesio Stakes at Moonee Valley last October, Amangiri added Saturday’s Group III Hawkesbury Cup (1500m) at Rosehill under an inspired ride by Tommy Berry.Hard earned win for Tommy Berry on Amangiri

After enjoying the run of the race in fourth, Berry found himself pocketed behind the leader Archedemus but angled the 4yo daughter of All Too Hard into clean air in the closing stages to edge the Savabeel gelding Live And Free by a long-neck with the Ocean Park mare Another Dollar nose back in third.

An $80,000 purchase by Commendable Bloodstock out of the Kitchwin Hills draft at the 2017 Mafic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, Amangiri advances her record to 4 wins, 2 seconds and 2 thirds from 13 starts with earnings of $372,400.

She is the best of two winners from three to race out of the winning Fastnet Rock mare Secret Indulgence who was sold at the 2018 Magic Millions National Broodmare, with Richard Foster & Associates signing the ticket for just $5,000.Amangiri an $80,000 Magic Millions Yearling

Not a lot wrong with her pedigree page either. She is a half-sister to the Group 1 Victoria Derby winner Amalfi (Carnegie) and the stakes-placed Bruges (Groom Dancer) as well as to the dam of Group II Hawke's Bay Guineas winner Antonio Lombardo (Pins) and Group III ATC NE Manion Cup winner Master Of Arts (Mastercraftsman).

Purchased by Moody Racing for $300,000 out of the Trelawney Stud draft at the 2010 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Secret Indulgence has a 3yo filly by More Than Ready (USA) named Ready To Indulge who was purchased by First Light Racing / Ciaron Maher / Paul Willetts for $60,000 at the 2018 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale and has had one start.

Secret Indulgence has a 2yo filly by More Than Ready named More Secrets, a weanling colt by Better Than Ready and was covered by the Lyndhurst Stud Farm stallion again last year.
