Fairhill Farm Weanlings a Riverside Highlight

Sponsored Content - by Tara Madgwick - Wednesday April 28

Mike and Debbie O’Donnell are renowned for presenting a quality draft of weanlings and their 28 strong selection for the Inglis Australian Weanling Sale (May 6) at Riverside Sables next week includes the only filly in the sale from the first crop of undefeated Triple Crown winner Justify (USA), the only youngster by Exceed and Excel, plus three colts by Australia’s leading 2YO sire Capitalist.

Undefeated Triple Crown winner Justify

Coolmore shuttler Justify has covered some outstanding mares in his first two seasons in Australia and one of them was Fairhill Farm’s star producer Now Now, the dam of multiple Group winning $1.5million earner Fiesta, who won the Darley Princess Series in 2018.

Her weanling filly by Justify will be offered as Lot 177 and the leggy chestnut is clearly stamped by her sire, who was US Horse of the Year in 2018.

Fairhill Farm will also offer a colt by Justify, with the half-brother to Group III winner and Champion Singapore 2YO Super One to be offered as Lot 1 to open the sale.

He is also a half-brother to Group II placed sprinter Super Too and comes from a diverse international Black Type family.

Last year, Fairhill Farm was the leading vendor by aggregate at this sale selling 23 babies for $858,000 and Mike O’Donnell believes this year’s offering is even better.

“Many of these weanlings this year are going to make early racehorses in September 2022,” O’Donnell said.

“They are the strongest we have ever produced. You only need to look at them to confirm this is not sales talk. The work has already been done. Just be ready to pocket the profits!”

The top seller for Fairhill Farm last year was a Deep Field colt from Touch of Greatness that made $105,000 as a pinhooking prospect.

He smashed it out of the park at the recent Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale when selling to Asian Bloodstock Services for $400,000!

Fairhill Farm will offer a colt by red hot sire So You Think from Touch of Greatness as Lot 8 and the half-brother to stakes-placed Hair Trigger is sure to attract plenty of interest.
