Emirates Park have announced the sad news of the passing of their 2005 Group I VRC Australian Guineas winner Al Maher at age 23.

Vale, Al Maher.

Bred and raced by Emirates Park, Al Maher was humanely put to rest following a short illness after a long and fruitful stud career covering in 18 consecutive seasons with his last mares covered in 2022.

 

Al Maher sired the winners of over $70million in prizemoney with 39 stakes-winners headed by Group I stars Delicacy, Diaomnd Drille, Fat Al, Almalad and current sprinting superstar Private Eye, his highest stakes earner with over $10million in prizemoney.

Al Maher has also made his mark through his daughters, who have produced 1 stakes-winenrs highlighted by Group I winners Quick Thinker and Krone.
