I Am Invincible 3YO Wins $100,000 Super Maiden

Tara Madgwick - Friday April 25

ANZAC Day races at Randwick produced a nice winner for Go Bloodstock with their homebred I Am Invincible gelding Maori Chief breaking through for a well deserved win in a lucrative $100,000 Super Maiden over 1250m.

Trained by Chris Waller and ridden by Adam Hyeronimus, Maori Chief was resuming from a spell with one trial to tune him up and looked fit and ready to fire.

Placed at three of his previous five starts, Maori Chief put it altogether this time to win by a couple of lengths.

“He jumped really nicely, put himself in a nice position and travelled great,” said Adam Hyeronimus.

“I always felt like the winner, even when he a little bit lost over that last furlong when he skipped away from home.

“He's a horse that's got a lot of upside as well. Fitness-wise, he'll come; he'll build off that again and his confidence and mentality will strengthen, so he very good today.”

Maori Chief is a half-brother to Group II winner Red Resistance and is the third winner from three to race for brilliantly fast Group II winning Lonhro mare Heatherly, who was bought by Go Bloodstock for $1.6million at the 2018 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.

Heatherly has a yearling colt by Snitzel, a weanling filly by Exceed and Excel and was covered last year by Extreme Choice.
