Alma Vale Thoroughbreds Welcome First foal for Ozzmosis

Media Release - Friday August 1

The next chapter for Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes winner Ozzmosis has officially begun with the arrival of his first foal. A bay colt out of the stakes-placed mare Cool Change (NZ) was born last night at Alma Vale Thoroughbreds, marking a significant milestone for the exciting son of Zoustar.

Verna Metcalfe, General Manager at Alma Vale Thoroughbreds expressed her delight.

“He’s an absolute cracker! We couldn’t be happier,” she said.

“He’s a strong, good-sized, bay colt. He’s everything we were hoping for. Alma Vale and our clients supported Ozzmosis heavily in 2024 and off the back of this result, we’re filled with confidence about what’s to come.”

From the fourth generation of an exceptional sire line of Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes Winners, Ozzmosis cemented his status as a top-tier colt with a dominant victory in the feature sprint at Flemington. He retired to stud covering a full book of quality mares in his debut season.

Ozzmosis’ trainer Bjorn Baker also commented: “I was delighted to hear the news of Ozzmosis’ first foal. He was the most naturally talented horse I’ve ever trained, and I genuinely can’t wait to start training a full barn of his progeny. If they inherit even a fraction of his brilliance, we’re in for something special.”

The arrival of this colt is the first of what is expected to be a highly anticipated first crop of foals for the talented son of Champion Sire Zoustar.
