Yarramalong Park Celebrate Best Ever Result with $650,000 Home Affairs Colt

Tara Madgwick - Thursday January 15

Exciting young sire Home Affairs made his mark at Magic Millions on Wednesday with an outstanding colt that made $650,000 for Queensland nursery Yarramalong Park.

A big powerful bay, very much like his sire, the colt from well related import His Glory (USA) was bought by renowned bloodstock agent John Foote on behalf of a Hong Kong client.

$650,000 Home Affairs colt from His Glory (USA).

He is the second living foal of Group II placed Mineshaft mare His Glory, who comes from the family of Champion US 2YO Colt Classic Empire.

His Glory was bought from the Coolmore draft at the 2024 Inglis Broodmare Sale by Yarramalong Park for $160,000 when carrying this Home Affairs colt, so she has proven to be an astute purchase.

“That is our highest price ever for a yearling,” said a delighted Richard Foster of Yarramalong Park.

“We thought he was the sort of horse that could make at least 300k, but me being the conservative gave the auctioneer a reserve of 250k to let everybody get in and of course they did… in spades!

“The terrific thing about it is this horse virtually sold himself. He had a very short sales preparation and adapted quickly.

“He’s a beautiful horse from a mare that we bought at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale from Debbie Kepitis. It’s not often you get a winner from Debbie, as she usually gets all the prizemoney, but this time she sold the mare after her first foal and we were fortunate to pick her up.”

That first foal that was retained by Debbie Kepitis is a Home Affairs 2YO colt called Duloc that is in work with Chris Waller.

His Glory had a colt by Better Than Ready last spring and is back in forl to him again.
