Coolmore Confirm King’s Legacy Acquisition

Coolmore Stud have confirmed that it has purchased a major share in star 2YO colt and dual Group 1 winner, King’s Legacy.

King's Legacy will stand at Coolmore at the conclusion of his racing careerFollowing his first Group 1 win in the ATC Sires Produce Stakes over 1400m two weeks ago, King’s Legacy today laid out his credentials for the title of Australia’s Champion 2 year old with a dominant win in the Group 1 Champagne Stakes over the Randwick mile.

Coolmore Australia boss Tom Magnier said, “We are very excited to secure King’s Legacy for Coolmore. I see him as the best stallion prospect ever produced by champion stallion Redoute’s Choice and we just had to have him.

"He is an incredible physical specimen, as befits a $1.4 Million yearling and boasts a wonderful, world-class pedigree. Importantly, his racetrack performance completes the package, being a dual 2YO Group 1 winner with only upside to come. He comes from one of the best families in Australia, featuring high level  stallions in Not A Single Doubt and Snippets plus a host of other top horses.“

King’s Legacy was purchased as a Magic Millions yearling for $1.4million from the Segenhoe Stud draft by a syndicate of owners put together by James Harron Bloodstock.

Harron was previously successful in purchasing Golden Slipper winner Capitalist.

The existing owners will continue to race King’s Legacy in partnership with Coolmore going forward into his 3YO season.
